Although Textones evolved over time, it wasn't until 1984 that they produced their first LP, MIDNIGHT MISSION, released on Gold Mountain Records (a label distributed, like I.R.S., by A&M Records). Three more LPs on three different labels over the next ten years took their toll and Carla decided to become a solo artist. After all, she was by then practicaly the only consistent musician and any recording session anchored by her was essentially a Textones recording.
Besides solo work, Carla did a number of records with virtually a who's who of LA (and beyond) folk-rockers: Gene Clark (ex-Byrds), Mick Taylor, Ry Cooder, Don Henley, John Fogerty, Phil Seymour and others too numerous to mention...
