7Seconds was one of nearly four dozen Northern California and Nevada bands featured on the Faulty Products distributed Alternative Tentacles LP, NOT SO QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT. Formed in the early '80s in Reno, Nevada, 7Seconds has been among the longest-lived of any group from that era's wave of "California-Punk" founded and epitomized by The Dead Kennedys (and Alternative Tentacles co-founder Jello Biafra). In fact, aside from the DK (as our abbrev-minded world has come to call The Dead Kennedys) no other band on NOT SO QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT has as extensive a fan following or so large a catalog of releases as 7Seconds.

Founder and guitarist/lead vocalist Kevin Seconds (Kevin Marvelli) is the only consistent member of 7Seconds. The group (at the time of NOT SO QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT) consisted of Kevin, bassist/backing vocalist Steve Youth (Kevin's brother, Steve Marvelli) and drummer Bix Bigler. Other changes during the mid-'80s included a move to Sacramento, the capitol of California, adding another guitarist (Bobby Adams) and a new drummer (Troy Mowat).
Over the past twenty years they've released more than a dozen records (not including their first three now-classic punk 7-inchers) on a wide variety of labels from independents(BYO Reocrds), to the majors (Epic) and everything in between (Restless). In concert they are well-worth seeing if only for their terrific rendition of "99 Red Balloons" (an early 80's hit and MTV staple by Nena). In 1999 they released their latest, GOOD TO GO, on Side One Dummy Records.
