MDC were from San Francisco, California and were one of nearly four dozen Northern California and Nevada bands featured on the Faulty Products distributed Alternative Tentacles LP, NOT SO QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT.
MDC challenged The Dead Kennedys in the arena of politically charged hardcore punk. Alternately known as "Multi-Death Corporation", "Millions of Dead Cops" or "Millions of Damn Christians", the group formed in Texas in 1980 but moved to the West Coast by the time they released their debut vinyl, a 1981 seven-inch titled "John Wayne Was a Nazi".
In 1982 their debut album, Millions of Dead Cops, the came out, followed in 1983 by an EP. Then MDC fell silent.
MDC returned in 1986 with their second album, Smoke Signals. Not content to rattle political cages, their 1987 LP, This Blood's For You was aimed at the religious right. Several more albums followed in the late 80s and the band continues to this day, now relocated in New York City (with only one remaining original member)...
